Located east of Hwy 71 off of MLK Boulevard, The Rochester will be one of the first market rate multi-family developments in this area. The goal for the site was to create high quality and safe spaces for residents to use on a daily basis along with promoting a community through gathering spaces. The site consists of a “front yard” and a “back yard”. The front yard is the social gathering hub with an activity lawn, kitchen space, lounge spaces and fi re pits. The back yard is more focused on individual use and bike storage than can be modified into countertop use. Several principals of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design were used to create a safe and usable site. In lieu of perimeter fencing, clearly defined landscape edges and entry points separate public vs private. View from units onto the front yard were maintained and a series of lighting types will provide efficient lighting throughout.
